Cone seperating, glue back on?
Hey Ive got some Infinity Reference Series speakers in my car. Theve been in it for about 4 years, so this was kinda expected. There is a tiny part where the outer lip of the cone has seperated from the rubber piece around it. Cone is not completely seperated in any place, just a small small portion of the outer lip. It doesnt make alot of noise but rattles a little when the bass hits a certain way. I was just wondering if theres a good type of glue to use (that doesnt cost too much) to get it to stick back on. I know they make special types for re-coning and such, where can I find it. Its not worth buying a new speaker over but gets on my nerves a little...ok gets on my nerves alot, just doesnt happen all that much.

I hear that a clear silicone works well, for it is transparent so you cant see it, and it doesnt dry hard so it has "strech" to it...you dont want to use an adhesive that will dry solid cuz it could just crack off, of even do more damage by ripping the glue and the surrounding area...you an adhesive that'll still have a little give to it once it cures.

I once repaired an entire rubber surround with blue formagasket and automotive goop made by goop.
I used thin cloth as a base for the surround as most of it was missing.
A tool box had been spilt all over the sub destroying the surround and punching a few holes in the cone, but somehow missed the voicecoil.
The sub pounded.
It was givin to me in shambles it was a fun project.
BTW it was a JL autio 12 inch sub.
