jl audio subs?
I have a couple of questions?
I just bought 2 -10in JL Audio 10WO subs, and a MTX 311D amp, I hooked it all up and u turn it on about 1/4 and it sounds ok but doesnt really bump but then u turn it up louder and then it sounds like theres no pause between the beats and then it starts bottoming out. and doesnt really bump, I didnt know if the amp was too small, if i dont have something hooked up right, or if the subs just arent the type u can run them loud so u can really here them?

There are a few things to check here.
1) Gain on the amp whats it set to?
2) Any voltage boosters on? Active crossovers?
3) Box, how big? Ported? Sealed? Bandpass?
4) Work-in time. Did you run the subs for a while at a moderate volume to work them in? Personally I usually work a sub in for a month. But even a week should be fine.
5) Power connections, how big is your ground and power wires? Long ground wires? Bad grounds?
Try checking these things, see if the cause comes up under investigation

Yeah JL's are power hungry it does not hurt to give them some power. The 2 w6 that I have will sound great if you put the right amount of power
Also the volume of your box needs to be the right size. Go to this url: http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/10w0.html
On page 3 of the data sheet it will let you know how you should use the sub
If the box has less inner volume (in liters) then the speaker is designed for its hard to get it to sound right
Hope that helped some
