HELP! Rear speakers dont work

I just finished installing my cd player. When I first turned it out static was coming from the right rear but nothing from the left rear. A couple seconds later nothing came from the right rear either. The front speakers work fine. I have checked and checked and checked the rear speaker wiring and everything seems to be right. Could the rear speakers be blown? Someone please help me!

I am assuming you are running the speakers right off the deck amp and not using RCA preouts to an external amp..

Best way to check this.. wire your front connections to the rear instead of the front. You know they work. If you still get distortion you know its either the wires or the speakers.

Yes, I am running the speakers of the deck amp. The audio components in the car are all stock except the hu.

I might try your idea in a couple days. Since there was no radio or harness in the car when I got it I had to wire the pioneer harness directly to the wires. Is there any other way to check? How can you tell if a speaker is blown?

use some kind of other speakers in their spot. Then youll know if its the wiring or not.

Update: I checked out the speakers today to check the connections and everything looked good. I played around with the connection of the right rear because It did work for a couple seconds when I first turned the cd player on and I got the speaker to work if I held the plug in a certain way. I played around the left rear and had no luck. I then moved the right rear speaker over to the left and it also worked there if I held the plug a certain way. If I dont hold it a certain way it will start to hear a little static. I moved the left rear to the right but the speaker still didnt work.

So I am thinking I have one blown speaker. How come the speaker will only sound good if I hold the plug a certain way?

check the speaker in the dark. I have seen them spark arch which causes static, moving the plug could be enough to stop it.
