RCA cable splitter?
Decided to step up to a 4 channel amp, which has 4 inputs but only 2 come off the back of the head unit. The amp needs to be ran in stereo to be 2 ohm stable.
What type of splitter should I use? Is there a certain name its called? Any suggestions would be helpful.

It's called a Y adapter ..........1 male 2 female. You gonna run 4 speakers off the amp? If you are the output off the head unit is for the rear only. So you won't be able to fade the output of the amp.

I think I am going to bridge it. I was thinking 1 female into 2 male, one for right and left channel.
Will this effect (weaken) the signal coming out of the rca cable by splitting them?

I think walmart sells them too (in the tv section),,,,,dont think they are the gold plated ones tho..if it matters to yah.

woudlnt you wnat to set up your cables different...
it seems the wat that you have them that the front speakers would be mono and then the rear speakers would be the opposite mono. i am trying to say that the way that you have it set up now seems like that you would have all your right speaker sound coming out your front's while you have the left signals coming out the rear speakers
in order to get the stereo effect you would want to have the spliter coming off t he cables and then one of the leads from each channel going into the front and rears. unless you are looking for the effecty of trying to fade, it but you would be fading left to right, but in your case since you set it up in the amp you would be able to do front to rear ?? is that what you were going for ??
i drew up a quick picture, what you have is the frist one, woudlnt you want to have the second one for the right stereo effect and sound coming out of your speakers. i think that this will give you a stereo sound out of all your speakers, instead of 2 different mono's out of your speakes

i was thinking the same thing...... white91formula is totaly right,,,,try playing with your balance on your deck instead of going side to side(r to l) youll get a front to rear fading.
And your sound would be flat, kind of. Theres alittle sterio but your not utilizing it to its full potential...hook it up like hes got it drawn and youll get your proper sterio sound.

How does it sound?
As for the mono thing as long as your running four subs or two bridged I wouldnt think it would matter.
I plan on running my two Audiobahn's bridged but in order to do so it has to be in stereoto be 2 ohm stable, so how would that work with splitting the left and right into left and right agian?
Wouldnt that be crossing signals?
When a amp is bridged doesnt the sound come out in mono?
