Will 6 1/2 inch speakers fit in the dash?

My dad got this cd deck and speaker package that came with 6 1/2 inch circular speakers. Will those fit up front in his 86 Iroc? I know the size is like 4x6 and they probably wont fit but was just curious.

I have never tried it.

Take the dash off and one speaker out then check. Test fit for depth and possible bracket application.

i fit 5 1/4s in my dash. I went to the junkyard and bought the top dash piece for like $5 then I cut holes in it and mounted the speakers to the top of it. Then i covered it with a dash pad. Im sure that would work with 6 1/2s also. I don't have money for kicks so this was my best solution.

I'm looking into doing the same and an old set of pioneer 6.5 will fit under the dash of my 87 iroc. They even fit in my original brackets. I had to make new holes for the pioneers which is no big deal. The speakers are six inches in dia. and about 2 inches wide. They also have a small two inch dia. by about one inch magnet. HTH
