Disc Changer locations

I've got a brand new 12-disc cd changer for my car. I have a problem, though. Where do I put it? I would like to put it somewhere that people can't really see it. I would hate to get it stolen. Does anybody have any ideas?

The popular place for them is in the spare tire area, if you don't have a spare tire anymore, or to remove that cardboard box on the other side of the car, and put it back in there.

i put my 12 disc changer in the junky storage compartment... where the cardboard crap used to be. it works real nice because nobody would ever know it was there and it fits pretty well. its a pain to put in but well worth it.

I placed my 12 CD on the small shelf in the trunk well. It has worked out great and did not take up too much room...Denny

There was a 3rd gen Camaro in Hot Rod Magazine a lonnnng time ago... he somehow mounted the thing in the dash, above the passenger's feet, in the horizontal plate that "faces" the passenger. He would've had to relocate the computer and ANY wiring behind that panel, though- but damn, it looked hot.

I'd also like to add that the lack of a spot for a CD changer is why I don't HAVE a CD changer. I'd hate to have to open the hatch every time I wanted to change the CD set...

Yeah I'd hate to run to the hatch too. I'd run the 12 disc instead of a 6. Not that you could really reach over and change CD if the changer were mounted on the passenger dash place you were taling about. That would require a GF

My 12 under the hatch is all the CD's I have anyway! Just throw away all but 12 of your CD's. It's cheaper than a GF

I put mine in the truck on the little ledge on the opposite side of the spare tire well . . . It fit very nice, very clean and easy to hide the wires and very easy to access.
