the final touches...
okay, so i spet a bit this summer on audio stuff,, ended up with a kenwood kdc722 flip down face headunit with two sets of preouts, memphis pr 4x6's and 6x4's a memphis 3004 ab class four channel amp. as far as sound quality goes,, im happy so far,, i havent met a kid yet (im 17 so bear with my finances and such) who has a better quality sounding system,,, what i mean is that i get compliments without having any sub setup as of yet from kids who only mess with subs just because mine sounds that good. i like it being a clean sounding system thats tuned in pretty well,, you cant tell where the speakers are anymore i think thats called the imaging?
anyways im on the verge of completing this system and for my amp (75x4 cont at 4 ohms 115x4cont. at 2 ohms 150x2at 4 ohm and 250x2 at 2 0hm) im thinking that the alpine type r 2+2 dvc subs would be a good choice.
i havent heard anything bad about alpine yet,, is there something i should know? also the box im thinking of having built fires the sub down into well (search awesome box idea in thes forum) but someone had a problem with that box,, something about the life of the sub... im thinking running a single ten into that airspace wont be a prob but im not sure,,, maybe porting the inside would help?
all help is appreciated

Honestly, if you are looking for accoustic correctness, go for a sealed box pointed in some mannor towards the hatch window.
Ported boxes are just louder.
(Awaiting incoming arguement that "if tuned right..........")

type r's are very good subs for the money. they perform well in sealed or ported boxes
a ported box will generally hit harder, but if you're hard up for space just go sealed
