yellow power wire has no power
this is really confusing me, and i have spent enough time tracing wires to find out what is wrong with this thing, hoping someone on here can help.
it is a 91 bird and the yellow wire is the constant 12v+ for the radio, except it has no power to it, the fuse in the fus block is fine, and someone had mentioned another fuse block near the radio pod but it did not have a fuse for the radio, or atleast i could not see one
anyone got any ideas ? personally i think it is a bunch of

Why not just run a new wire from the battery, thats what I did.
Its a lot easier than tracing wires

i rather get it working the right way instead of adding more wires, whoever owned this before be liked adding garbage wiring so i am trying to get it all out and get everything working correctly....

Hmmmm.. Yellow wire is the keyed 12 volts for me. Constant is orange/black. But then again I have an 89 Camaro. don't know if any differences between birds & maros & years.

Do you have the factory wiring diagram?
If so, post it up and I will look at it for you.
I would hook up a (power probe/test light/
volt meter) and check both sides of the fuseblock to see if it had B+.
---------------------------------
If you don't have b+ on either
side of the fuse, the problem is up
stream. You will have to trace it
or get a factory wiring diagram.
--------------------------------
If B+ on only one side either the fuse
is bad or the connection to the fuse
block.
-------------------------------
If you have B+ on both sides then:
++ fuse is good
++ power to fuse block is good
bad connection from from fuse to
your radio then.
--------------------------------
If you have b+ on only one side, then
check the fuse. No I don't mean just
look at it. Hook up your volt meter
and make sure it is ok. Sometimes
it is broken where you can not see
it. Or the gheto/fast way put
in known good fuse and then
see if you b+ on both sides.
good luck.

sorry i got confused, it is not the yellow one it is the orange one, i thought it was the yellow, but it is the orange because it is the constant 12v+ wire, what one is the one that goes throught the fuse box, the 12v+ constant or the switched one ?

The yellow wire(switched +12 volts) runs to the radio fuse in the main fuse box. The orange(orange/black for mine)wire is constant +12volts & is fused in that separate pull down fuse panel by the gas pedal. This is from my personal experience with the same prob. And according to my wiring diagram 89-91 should be the same wiring. So your's & mine should be the same unless birds have slight differences than maros

If its all scewed up, do what I do, run a new wire, you may be never close to the right wire, you could end up cutting the wrong one, that why I think it's better to run a new wire, unless your planning on keeping this car forever

Ok I just talked to another guy who has a 91 Camaro. Try double checking your fuse box for one labeled just arc. Like I said mine was on the convenience center & labeled arc radio. Found out that only applies to 85-89. 90-92 has it on the main fuse box & is labeled arc. If that isn't it then sorry. I'm really trying to help you solve this

i am not trying to be rude, but it is for the camaro's also, the arc fuse is the fuse for the constant 12v+ wire for the radio, the acc fuse controls all accesories, including power to the radio, which i know believe goes through the arc fuse after that. so in a sense you are right, but there is j ust another fuse after the acc fuse
