Rubber coating

Last night my friend ripped the interior out of his car and coated all of the interior of the body panels with this rubber spray can stuff. He said it would reduce road noise, and it actually did help quite a bit.

My question is, is this pointless to do if I'm going to lay dynamat (or a dynamat substitute) all over the interior? Anyone done this?

Actually dynamat makes a srapy just like your friend used. It all does the same thing. The effect will depend on how well you spray your car, or how well you can put a mat in your car. Its all really a matter of preference. I'm sure one does better than the other, but I've tried neither. If you really want to make sure that your car is quiet do both. A little bit of overkill never hurt anybody.

You couldn't be more right about the overkill thing. My car is sooo noisy just driving down the road. To get rid of this as best as possible I think I'll get new suspension all the way around, sub frame connectors, rubber spray, and dynamat. Should make a considerable difference.
