Replacing Performance Sound 4" drivers...
Mine dried and tore the ribs out, so I spent a great deal of time looking around for some 4" low frequency drivers and found nothing that seemed right. Then I turned my sights to getting the speakers repaired instead. I'll post the company name when I find the receipt again, but a shop in NY re-coned my drivers and even replaced the plastic slug dust cap! (Used to create more moving mass, thus lowering the frequency response and simulating the characteristics of a larger driver.) I've never heard it sound so good! Coupled with my Infinity 4x6 plates and Eclipse 4x6 dash drivers, I can't believe an otherwise stock system could sound so good for being 18+ years old!
Has anyone else found suitable replacemet drivers for the "sub woofers" in their local area?
