Will 86-88 T/A casstte player plug into 84 radio harness????

Will 86-88 T/A casstte player wire to 84 radio? I've bought a 89 Grand am cassette player and it doesnt plug into my harness. I also bought a pioneer cd player dexp-88 but it didnt come with the harness that it plugs in the back of the cd player and the power cord on the pioneer parts site is like $35 and i cant get in touch with them they dont have a customer service people i can talk to because theres 2 plugs that go back there. Anyone who installs audio equipment (professionally) should be able to help you. If I were in your shoes, I'd search the net first (which is probably what you're doing now). If I couldn't find the answer there, I'd call the manufacturer of the product. Depending on where you live, sometimes installers at Bestbuy or Circuit City can help.

If none of the above helps, and no one here replies, you may have to get rid of what you have and get something that you know will hook-up.
I've been there and bought a t-shirt!

yes it will, '89 was the first year on thirdgens that they went to a different plug and a smaller antenna end instead of the standard motorola end, most other vehicles (full size chev pickups , caddys ) was '88 , i've cars as new as a 94 olds that had the old style plugs and metra makes plugs that will adapt a newer plug style to an older one. http://www.metraonline.com.

You can also seek out wiring diagrams of both decks, see if the wiring matches.

Of course you wanna make sure the plugs ni the back match too LOL
