is it possible to reapair busted voice coil

is it possible to reapair busted voice coil

i got a bazooka 12" EL1204 sub from mah friend for $5. he said teh voice coil was messed up, and hook it into the car and yep it is... can i fix it mahself? for how much? or do i have to get a shop to do it again how much.....?

Yeah, it's possible to have it fixed. It'll cost far more than that driver is worth.

the sub is worth $120 new i paid $5 and either way i have no immeadiate need for it... about how much will it cost tho?

I don't know. There are numerous outfits throughout the country that can re-cone a woofer, and since the voice coil comes as part of the replacement cone in most cases, that's what you need to have done. If the manufacturer provides replacement cones, it may cost $30-80 depending on materials and labor costs. Since no Bazooka sub is actually worth that much, I'd forget it.

I got 2 Bazooka EL series 12s, And they are decent...But I am upgrading...Not enough clean bass for my taste...I paid $100 for both of mine in a box, And I sold the box for $50
