Ford Radio Problem
It goes like this. A few weeks ago the radio and cd player in my car (factory installed) went on the fritz, after knocking the hell out of the cdplayer and completly shattering it I decided I needed a new cd player and radio. I took an old Pioneer cd player I had to see if it still worked then I cut the proper wires off of my harness, Power, Ground, and Remote just to see if it would get power. When I installed it my radio and gauge lights fuse kept blowing so I replaced it a few times. I decided the cd player wouldnt work so I went and saw my brother who also has a mustang. He said the radio was probably bad so he put a new cd player in his car and gave me his radio and cd player. I spliced the wires back into place for the factory harness and plugged his stuff in. They worked when they came out of his car, but now they wont work in mine. It seems like there not getting power. Is it possible that the pioneer cd player burned up my power wire or something (if so how do I check?) When I turn my headlights on the radio and cd player both illuminate like there supposed to, but they wont turn on. What should I check out??? Any help is appreciated very much.
ohh yea, the ones from his car had the Mach 460 sound system and mine didnt although they still seem to hook up the same.
Thanks,
Steve

You know how to use a multimeter, right?
Take the Ford radio out. Then make sure you have a fresh fuse for the radio. Check the voltage supply to the radio, see if there's any power at all.
One major killer of radios is reversed polarity, although I'm not particularly sure how that would have happened.
