need decent hu

i'm finally putting a head unit in, i've got a sound storm amp 100watt x4, it's got a built in crossover and separate gain control on ch1 + 2 and 3 + 4
the hu i got now is real old and i couldn't get it to work, i was going to bridge both right speakers on channel 2 and both left on channel 1 because the cd player only has one pre-out, but now i've got to buy another head unit so i'm thinking i want dual pre-outs so i can have fade control from front to back. i'm not putting in a sub just yet and i don't think i will because this setup is for my s10. there are pre-outs that are specified for subwoofers would it matter if i hooked that up to the regular speakers?

i'm thinking of spending a max of 150 on a headunit with dual pre-outs, i'd rather spend less if it won't make a difference, it will sound fine for me, i like to hear the air sucking through my k&n fliped-lid anyway

with the amp and the stock speakers (for now) it will have more then enough power and sound for me, i wired it up with a scosche wiring kit (200w-550w), i'm really not trying to go crazy i just want decent sound. whenever i buy new speakers then i'll be-able to up the gain on the amp, but for now ill be happy

what hu should i go with? i was thinking of buying from ebay or pricewatch cause they are real cheap.

i'm browsing ebay and i've found this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...701018171&rd=1
pioneer dep-p5500 and it's got front and rear pre-outs which is exactly what i want
its 130 buy-it-now with 20s&h
150 is perfect, is there anything cheaper i should go with?

Car: 92 caddy PIMP
Engine: 4.8
Transmission: i dunno
Id get an alpine or clarion. I own an alpine. 3 preouts mp3 etc etc. I love it. But my friend just got a clarion pro audio head unit and that thing is awesome. 70+different colors, mp3, 3 preouts, and so many more functions. You could prolly get a nice alpine from ebay or something for cheap. But I dunno If I would shop on ebay after hearing all the scams etc on it.

it seems soundstorm isn't any good of a company, would i be better off runing the factory speakers off the headunit from this pioneer 6500 or 6600 or should i hook up the amp?

i do plan to replace the speakers later with pioneer or infinity, perhaps

i bought the pioneer deh-p560mp premier
it's a real good choice, considering i dont care about organic display and i want 3pre-outs plus mp3 playback
$166 total, great price, only buy new from ebay, in my opinion
