My finished system... (pics)

At least till I find something else to upgrade... This is in my Gray 3.1 Firebird/Trans Am clone.

Pioneer Premier deck
Pioneer 6-disc CD changer
Kenwood EQ
Audio Control Epicenter
Rockford Punch 45.2 - Subs
Rockford 4ch amp - front/rear
Kicker Solobaric S8's
Rockford, Stinger, Phoenix Gold wiring and connectors
Alpine 3.5's - dash
Pioneer 4 way 6x9's - rear

I'm happy with it, its extremely clear, extremely loud, and it puts my old setup with the factory cassette deck to shame. Total cost is probably close to $1,000 give or take. At list price with the type of installation I did, it would be about a $3,000 stereo.

Edit: keep forgetting parts...

That's some old-school equipment! I used to sell every one of those models back in the mid/late 90s.

True, it is older hardware, but then you run what you brung. I bought the deck new in 96, the Punch amp came along in 97. The subs were bought almost new at a pawn shop in 97. The 4ch RF amp came out of a car from the auction, I think I gave $40 for it. The EQ came from my roomate, another $40 buy... actually I think I traded some parts for it, which I got back a while later.

At any rate the only parts I had to pay for recently were the dash speakers, wiring, and the mounting kit. Everything else was either left over from previous stereo setups or was traded for.

I love the barter system.

And also, don't forget that its in an old school car...

If it makes you feel better my alarm system dates back to 91 and for the most part, so do my musical tastes.

You've got about as much crappage in there as I do people think you cant fit a nice big stereo in a camaro/firebird...just try me though! I'll make anything fit Yours looks good, and looks like it sounds good to! What size of wire do you have ran for power wire?

PS I need to clean up the wires, but I get home from installing stereos from 9:30 to 6:00 and just dont feel like workin on mine, ya know?

The Solobaric 8's require .33 cubic feet each, so they've got plenty of air. The main power lead is 4ga from the battery to the dist block. I thought I'd need a cap, but so far I don't have any charging system problems. That's with some aux lighting thats not original, aftermarket alarm, and the stock 6cyl low output alternator that I repaired a couple years ago.

The main goal I was after was making it look nice and clean, yet still have all the features I want. It takes up less space and sounds a lot better than my Rockford 12's did in a baffle plate.
