Charging issues
Running a March Performance Pulleys underdrive kit. I know there not good for us since it slows down the alternator, so I'm thinking about getting a new pulley for it. I figure they come with either the 2 3/4" or the 2 3/8" pulleys.
One I was thinking about getting was a 1 11/16" polished dealie
That would put me around 39% to 60% overdriven from what I got now. So if the kits really do slow the pulleys down 25% from factory I will have a 14% or 35% overdrive alternator pulley from factory specs.
As for the rest of the system it includes 1 conventional, 1 yellow top, 2 1.0 farad caps, and 2 jbl 1200.1s
I already emailed dominick he makes some high output alternators for our serpentine setup.
Here's what he sent me back:
I know the 200 will be a direct bolt on.. $319.00
its a 99% chance that the large case is still a direct bolt on even with the
carb upgrade..
220 $339.00
240 $359.00
260 $379.00
280 $399.00
300 $439.00
Thanks, Dom
What you guys think? Just say to heck with the pulley and get a High output or try the pulley first then think about a high output if it doesn't solve the problem? I'm not worried about frying my 105 amp AC Delco alternator cause I have a lifetime warranty on it.
