Speaker Panels

Would it improve the sound of my kenwoods in the rear to remove those cloth speaker panels that the clothes hangers are located on or to just cut out a hole for the speakers and put a screen in front of it? Would this help or really be useless?

you could recover them with some speaker grille cloth that is designed to be acoustically invisible.

i really dont think you would much of a difference unless you have some good speakers.

The difference would be very minor, and in my opinion, would make things worse. Because of the lousy positioning of those speakers, the less high frequencies that come from them, the better your front soundstage will be, so I sure wouldn't do anything that would allow more highs to get through.
