Amplifier problems... time to move on

Hey everyone, new member to the board as I just recently bought a new car. For some background information, it's a 1983 Trans Am with a rebuilt 327 out of a 65 Impala! Has lots of goodies, including headers, exhaust, Holley 750 carb, 5 speed, ignition, racing cam... will hope to have some pics soon!

But anyways, my question is this- I recently put in my Pioneer DEHP6500 deck, and now my amp has gone to ****s. The amp came with the car (its a Craig 125W... hilarious!) and all the wiring was previously done. This weekend I plan on picking up some new 6x9's which I will be running off a Kenwood 350W amp... 2 channel. Whats the best way to go with this amp? The guys at the local car audio place reccomended the Alpines, but they come with a 300 dollar price tag. I'm not cheap when it comes to my car, but I'm not much of a grand wizard when it comes to car audio. Any feedback would be great!

Thanks
