I snapped my recievers cable... where does it go
I dont know that much about car stereos... But I do know that I accidently yanked a yellow wire under the hood and found that my radio doesnt work. I also found a snapped yellow wire near the fuse box in the panel under the drivers side ya know? I found that that might be the source of my problem... according to my car alarm manual it says thats the 12v power to the radio. I figured I could find any live 12v source and have my stereo running... But like everycar I need it to shut off when my car is off and turn on from the key or ACC key. So my question is does anyone know where I can splice this wire to so it works like before?

If you can't find where the yellow wire goes at the fuse block, run a new wire to the stereo from the battery.
if this is an aftermarket radio, then it should have the following color codes:
Yellow, constant power (batt +)
Red, 12v when ignition is on (ACC)
Black, ground
The wire (unless it was installed just for the stereo) probably provides power for your cigarette lighter and dome light too. You should start by finding out where this wire can be reconnected to the fuse block if these aren't working.

Ok, But this yellow wire is hanging from the fuse box... should I route it through the firewall directly to the battery?
