Berlinetta tape deck

Hey guys, so my Berly's tape deck is driving me nuts! I want to keep the car stock, so I bought one of those tape things that let you play your CDs from your portable CD player.... well, it has a auto-search for the next track function apparently. When I try to play it will play the song for about 3 seconds, then it will go silent while it looks for another track, and continues playing the song.

I am assuming that it isnt actually reading the songs from the tape because it doesnt have that film stuff in the CD player tape thingamajig (whatever the heck it is called! lol). Is there any way to de-activate this function, or is there just nothing I can do about this? I dont want to go drilling holes in my car and such, and would love to keep the near-mint interior as is... but I cant stand listening to the radio all the time, commercials suck.

Thanks in advance guys

not sure how to help you on the issue you have. But a suggestion if you want to pay the money, they sell cd changers that tie into your fm radio station and plays that way. It would keep your car looking stock and have a radio that doesnt skip or do weird things like you describe

I have the fm radio cd changer on my stock system in the family van and they mount easily, with a sending unit you attach to the back of the stock radio (any radio) and then hide the controller anywhere you like. Works ok and I get 8 discs with no wires or portable sliding around! Just pick a preset and you're good to go!

thanks guys, this sounds like a definite investment... I'm assuming that I could just as easily take it off and put it in another car too (incase i decide to sell this car or whatever?)

Does anyone have a link to where i might find one of these? I'm really interested

Look for FM modulated CD changers. Places like www.sounddomain.com and www.crutchfield.com sell them.
