System plan review
Alrighty, its 5:45am, I have been up all night doing homework (car and school) and here are my ideas. I want everything to fit perfectly and look professional so I will be spending more on box than I should be.
CD Player: Pioneer DEH-P8600 $325
4X6 plate: Infinity Kappa 85
6X9: Infinity Kappa 3 way 120
Q-Logic Box: 250
Subs: (2) 10inch Infinity Kappa Perfect $200 (both)
Q-logic Kick Panel: 125
Speakers and Amp for Kick panel: Was thinking Infinity Kappa Perfect: 250
Grand total to: around 1100 give or take a few bucks
It would be great jammin, I really love the infinity line, it has been around for a few years and I haven't heard anything negitive about it.
About installation, what would you guess a professional installer would charge me to do this RIGHT I want this to be a perfect job, and it may take me 2 months to totally fund this project as a whole.....I was going to start my suspension mods, but I can't stand my 3 inch flowmasters forever (all my speakers are blown I believe I can't turn it up over a whisper without horrible sound)
Am I looking at having to run new speaker wire through the dash? Or will factory wire work?
I think those kickpanels might screw up my alright tight legroom, since I am already having fitting problems, but from the photos I have seen it is not where I normally put my feet anyway.....
Any suggestions, replacements, tips, or deals just post em cause thats what I need

Ive heard the infinity line of subs arent all that great. The normal speakers are awesome though! Dont bother on the professional install. You can be your own pro. Its not exactly brain surgeory to install a few powers and grounds. The amp just needs power from your battery(4 gage usually) with ring terminals and stuff. A remote turn on lead from your head unit.(blue wire) and a ground. The speakers wires of course too.
The kappa plates might be a different story since Ive heard of many stories of people having to tear their dash apart to get them in.
You can use the stock wiring as long as its still in tact. You just need a harness kit.
The reason I say do it yourself or have a friend do it is because best buy usually charges rediculous amounts like 50.00 per pair of speakers so much per amp, 50.00 to install the head unit, etc etc.
Also you might want to check ebay for cheaper prices. Usually you can get still wrapped in the box deals for hundreds cheaper.
I feel your pain on the leg room. I wanted to do it in my old t/a but i didnt want to loose the leg room.

Those are ebay prices with shipping (cept for the kick panels and box)
The prices are the same on the box for 10's or 12's, should I just go ahead and get 12s? I don't want it to be crazy loud, but I might as well do it if I can right?
On the 4X6 plates I have read up using the search function (works wonders when you have questions /smack self) and have seen many people have had problems with the driver side.....any ideas on how to modify it without damaging anything?
I thought I would include the pic of the q logic rear box (expensive but looks GREAT)

well it really depends if you like bass that goes good along with rap or bass that goes good along with fast techno. 10s generally handle better fast bass while the 12s are more deep. I have 12s and Im going to be getting 10s.

In your camaro those Infinity plates should fit with minimal hassles. In a Firebird, it's considerably more work.
For the $250 that the q-logic box will cost you, you may want to also consider a hand made box. In the long run I think it'll sound better (unless you pick subs specifically designed for the airspace in the q-logic), will be a bit more unique, and won't cost any more.

If you have the time then I would build my own box as Jim85IROC said. But if you don't, then look into airspace he mentioned. Cuase it will make a huge difference in the sound quality.
Personally I think you should go with a sealed enclosure. It's not as efficient and you'll need more power, but the SQ is more than worth it.
I am running 3 - JL Audio 10's. I love them. Just my .02.
