Are you trying to ask whether or not wire was run to the rear speakers? If so, the answer is yes since they would need power to work :lala:

You will be able to tell if it's stock by pulling the sail panels and looking at the wire. Odds are that if it has one big molex connector on the end that plugs into the speaker it's stock since most aftermarket wire is attached/soldered to each speaker post individually.

I'm not sure where the wire was run, but you shouldn't have any problems with pulling your carpet because of them.

The wire is run in a channel along the side of the frame under the door sills.

OK--So, to put in aftermarket speakers I cut off the factory connectors and splice in something that fits the new speakers--no?
The original speakers (rear) are mounted in metal plates--the speaker holes seem much larger than the speakers the factory installed and the speaker wires seem adequate guage to handle speakers big enough to fill those holes if I take out the metal plates, like those factory metal plates are some sort of adapter to fit smaller speakers.
Can I take out those metal plates the speakers are mounted in and put in something more appropriate? I'm doing my whole interior--roll bar, carpet, door panels, seats--traditional hot rod style by an old hot rod shop but want to keep it simple--thanks.

Don't cut and splice. Get a harness for your car and wire the after market HU to that, then that will plug right into the harness in your car. Makes it easier and cleaner. You can get them at Best But, Wal Mart, circuit city, Most auto parts stores, and other places......

um i dont really undertand most of that and i read it three times... pretty much what needaz said is correct. although when it comes to mounting and wirng the speakers i would cut the factory plugs and crip on some rubber shielded blade terminals that will fit your aftermarket speaks
