sound through carpet
lol this is gonna sound wierd...
If I covered a port hole with carpet, how well would the sound (or air) flow through it?

It depends on what the port is for. You'll definitely not be pushing much air through it anymore, if at all. If it's for a ported sub enclosure, you'll lose some power (decibels) at the frequency the port is tuned to. If it's a bandpass enclosure, you'll probably lose overall power, though I'm not too sure on that one.

You would do a few things by covering a port with carpet: you would muffle the sound and you would also hurt the tuning of the port since it would be more of an enclosed area vs a free air area.
That said, it diffrent kinds of carpet would give diffrent effects. The heavier the carpet, the more prominent the changes will be (ie speaker grill vs actual car carpet).

I ask this cause I really want to make my sub hidden. I wanted to try this:

I thought it theres to much pressure on the sub in the "sealed" space in the well, I could cut a hole in the plate to let some pressure out?
