i made custum boxes for my door that houses a 6 in 3 in and a tweat doing this is much better then cutting the door panal
any pictures of the finished job? pioneer just came out with their new larger subs with shallow mounting depths. i've thought about looking into those but i don't want to sacrifice clarity.
i thought about doing this, but i ended up going with a 5 1/2 and a small tweeter in each door. the main reason is that the doors were already heavy as hell, and heavier subs in the doors had me scared as my doors are already starting to sag. how much do the new pioneer subs weigh Jeff? my new door panels with the speakers mounted only weigh about 7lbs, and kept the speakers as close to the hinges as i could.
crazycamaro83 are you having any trouble with your doors sagging?

my doors already have worn the rocker panel from saggin.. you can fix that by readjusting them... but yea the extra weight will make the door sag faster i think

you'll have to hear this setup when it's finished. i never noticed how bland the car was with the standard 4x6's and 6x9 setup. removed them and put a few speakers in the right area.
wow...

im not looking for all out sounds, just a nice sound that i've never had in the car from day 1. if mine sounds like crap, then you'll have to tell me where to put them the 2nd time around lol
