Berlinetta radio: Restore or do better?
Berlinetta radio: Restore or do better?
I've got an 84 Camaro Berlinetta with no stereo. As I'm sure you are familiar, the Berlinetta radio is very strange, on a post. I'm more into keeping things in their original state than souping them up, So I'm thinking I should just get one to match. I found a nice and cheap auction on ebay for a radio out of an 84, so it's even the right year, AND I can afford it (so far). Thing is, there's no cassette deck, and in the 88 Firebird I used to have I kept the original stereo and just played a walkman-type cd player through an adapter. I love listening to my own music, but at the same time I want to replace the accurate equipment. I just wanted to get some other opinions on what I should do. What do you guys think?
i couldnt agree more that listening to your own music is the best. and its only better in a camaro. i say get a new deck you can get one that isnt flashy but still gets the job done for cheap. i personally love my system trust me there is nothing like cranking up the tunes with the t-tops down while you are hauling down the highway. so i say do better!!!

I have the same issue, a 1984 with the digital dash and the stereo on a dance pole. I love to keep old cars original, but I can't deal...that piece of ... is coming out.
I got the tape deck version, but still...anyone want to buy an original berlinetta stereo, lol.
