Pioneer AVIC-N2

Just bouight one NIB from ebay.

Does anyone have this unit, or the N1? (last year's model)

I'm pretty psyched to get everything set up, but I have to install my alarm and remote start first.

Just wanted to get some heads up any problems people are having with these units.

A friend of mine picked one up for his scion tc. no real issues as far as i know. It was pretty easy to tune. .... i think there may have been one custom memory spot in the crossover adjustments in the hu for a custom memory setting. The HU has a "saftey" built in where the car has to have on the ebrake to play a movie ... to bypass it simply run a 12v lead to a toggle switch, that you turn on before the car starts. Usually will work out.

Watch what you say... that ebrake wire needs ground not 12v. Luckily I am a certified mobile electronincs installer, and actually know what I'm doing.... If I was any other Joe-Shmo, you would have caused me to destroy my new deck, lol

I'm very familiar with tuning Pioneer radios, I just wanted to see if there are any major problems people are having.

This will NOT work with the N2, only the N1. The N2 also looks at the GPS to detect movement. If the GPS sees movement it still will not play movies or let you do some of the GPS mapping stuff. There are some bypasses out there for the GPS as well. Good thing you actually know what your doing.

I'm sorry, but using the GPS to see if your moving...come on.

Stupid laws.

I really wish I could afford a nice DVD/Nav screen, congrats on your purchase

i had the n1, nice unit.. wanted to get the d1 but the fact it wasn't a dvd player i decided to change to eclipse which i was rather upset about for awhile. the n2 is a nice piece but as mentioned you'll need to bypass the new part now. look online as there are several people doing it with no problem. enjoy the unit as it's nice, post pictures when it's in. i'd love to see it!
