Stock Radio : Power Button

Original owner of my 88 IROC said don't try the radio because the antenna will go up and not come back down. But when I hit the power button the radio won't even come on, if I hit it several times it might finally click in but when you remove your finger off the button it goes back off. I think the button isn't sticking right, is there a way I can fix this or am I going to have to get a new radio?

Click it really fast. it'll come on. Then just turn the volume down to turn it off.

You can also use compressed air to clean it. That will help sometimes.

Check your local audio shop ,not circuit or bby, and ask them what they may have lying around that they forgot to give the customer back. Hell my shop had about a hundred of em.

If you live Near MD I can take a look at it. It sound like a dirty switch. Some De-oxit or other contact cleaner may be all it needs. If you go out and by some be careful, some contact cleaners will discolor plastic if it get on any. De-Oxit (sp?) is the best, if you can get some just spray the switch out.
