So I bought myself a DVD player- A few qusetions
My cousin gave me a good deal on his Alpine CVA 1003 along with the DVD player (DVA 5205). I realize this isn't the newest unit, and I wasn't expecting to get one anytime soon, however I couldn't pass it up! I want to install it in my car and was wondering if anyone has bypassed the parking brake safety feature. I'm NOT planning on watching DVD's while I drive, but I want to be able to play DVD's while the car is at shows. I don't want to have to lift up my parking brake though. I read somewhere about connecting the wires to a ground source, but I'm not sure that would work. Any suggestions on this?

It sounds as though it gets +12 VDC from your parking brake switch as a signal. I would just connect it to the ignition power.

I just put a Panasonis flip out in my car and connected that wire to a regular ground screw to bypass.Having the capability of watching while traveling keeps the wife busy!!!Looks great in the car but I have to be in "N" to open the screen. No big deal.
