Wiring question: have any of you heard of this?
My younger brother and I are big into music and car audio in general. We both have pretty substantial systems in our vehicles though his is in his truck. He was telling me about how the truck guys on the message boards he visits are running a 4 gauge power cable from the battery to the stud on the alternator to improve current flow. He said that some are even removing the factory wire and replacing it with the better cable while others are just running it in addition to the oe wire. It sounds like a good idea, so why haven't we heard of it before? I was thinking of doing this in addition to upgrading the main battery cable to 2 gauge as well as from the battery to the junction block at the rad core support. Thoughts?
Also while I've got you here, why is it that only the E code cars (TBI) have this junction block and the V6 and TPI cars don't? Anyone know?

This is no unheard of... it's normally called upgrading the "big 3" or "Magic 3"

Thanks for the info. This is the first I've heard of it and even though I'm only running somewhere between 400-500 watts on the stereo I'm sure the ignition and electrical system could benefit from the upgrade. Plus a little more flash under hood couldn't hurt at shows either.
