changing my system again :/
well i ran across a deal the other day that i could back down on. my car is still not running so some of this audio build will be about a month from now but i wanted to start a thread that had my progress in it.
i bought the sub today it is a kicker solobaric l5 12" it does 600wrms i paid $60 for it and the box. im going to reuse my ap2000 profile amp. the guy gave me a cracked box for two l5 subs but i just have to make a new back plate and cut the other part off and add a side plate. but i doubt it will fit so im going to probably build a custom box. i think im going with as close to 2.5 or 3 ft cubed as possible and tuning it somewhere between 30-35hz.
my old setup is actually not very old. i have 2 10" kicker cvr's that are practically brand new. they are nice but i like the low lows the 12's hit. my bro has a alpine type r 12 in his mustang.
any ideas on a box though guys ive never seen an l5 or l7 box in a camaro i dont know what im going to do yet. lmk your opinions though.
here is my old setup very nice and clean the amp will stay the same just the box and subs will change.

alright i made the picture here ill try and put it in here it is kinda big though. the site wouldnt let me attach it.

you see what i mean? it isnt a true recangle or square i have to angle it so i can put the sub in the box. i need to calculate how big to make the port size so i can go ahead and build it.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< thats what i need to know!!
lmk what you guys think and some suggestions.
to calculate the cubic feet i multiplied the Length, Height and Width (in inches) and then divided by 1728. it came out close to 2.5 inches^3. does that sound about right? i did it with the outside measurements not inside of the box. but i also didnt take into effect the angles of the box i calculated it with the smaller measurements of the angles so the cubic feet would be greater than what i actually came up with.

err, in the side view is the height 8" and 11.5" (droping a perpendicular down to the base from each vertex) or is the side length 8'' and 11.5''? If the side length is say 8'' on that one side, then its not 8'' high in the front view. The views dont match up. And id break it into smaller peices to get the right volume.

the side view is what it says it is it is a side to the box. usually it would be square but i have to angle it. if you are looking at the box from the side like the picture of the side view, the top of the pic is the top side of the box the right side of the picture is the front side of the box. and the bottom side is the bottom the left side is the back view. on the side view picture the right side is 8" tall which means the front is going to be 8" tall same as the side...
the on the left of the side view that would be the heighth of the back piece which would be 11 1/2"
idk if that was very clear its hard to explain it.

right, ok, the 8" refers to the height of the right vertex, and not the actual measure of the right side. Thats what I was confused on. In the front view you do not see that inclined face in its true size and shape. Plus, you would see the inclined top face.

yep you got it.
but i need to figure out how i can calculate the port size correctly... that has me stumped right now.
