first decide if u want a Ported BOX or a Sealed Box.
-reference the web site below to explain the difference
They do offer two different kinds of bass notes if u build them RIGHT!.
I would just reference a well known web site like www.rockfordfosgate.com
u can simply measure the dimensions of the trunk area u wanna use. then plug those numbers into the website along with the thickness of the wood your using. it will give u the results your looking for.......
If the calculations for bass are toooo much then lower the thickness of the wood being used......
you'll be please with the results

I had mine made with a cover across the subs with perferated aluminum grills under the carpet. Still sounded great and I had the tops in all the time.

Hmmnnn maybe I should rebuild my Infinity's box>Made it with an decline that starts right onder the light and switch and ends about 1 inch below the beginin os the sump area. All it meand is that where yers goes str8 across mine goes uphill to just under the light. But I don realy have room for a lid so was thinkin of makin a grille outta sum spare stuff in the shed. Also I lose the flat area that yer setup alows you with the use of yer top piece.Since I make alotta salvage yard runs the xtra space would be nice as well as not as much concern for the spkr. What thickness did ya use.Mines about 1 inch thick.(Blessed heavy without amp or woofer.)Thinkin of goin thinner ply wood for weight considerations.

Oh and where did ya stash the amp.As ya can see mines bolted ta the box but thinkin of stickin it in the glove box area in the back there and runnin a couplea PC fans for air circ. That way can add another 12 like the 1st 1.Or grab the set out my junk bass box.Always have concerns in the neighborhood I work in.I work nights too.Thats why I have a junk set up too.Gotta have some bass with my AC/DC and Zombie.

I heard of someone making one that makes room for the amp, the tops, and the subs. I would love to see this, as that would be a godsend. If anyone has such a setup, I'd be your best friend if you posted pictures.

I mounted the amp and cap in the spare tire well. I didn't want people to see anything when they looked in. It was 3/4" mdf.

Hey 87 when and if ya get the chance can ya do a closeup of the cap/amp area?Thought of the spare tire area too but have needed a spare b4 so will prolly use the glovebox area and reinstall the box just add the cpu fans for air circ.Would still luve ta see yers closer tho....Bill

it's usually a good idea to have your amp and your cap as close to your subs as possible. so you don't lose power on the way to the speakers.
