Auto dimming feature.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P25 cd-player. It has a dimmer wire on it, so that the display will dim when the headlights or park lights are turned on.
What wire in the factory harness controls this? It's an 83 Camaro Z28, I would think that even with the cars age it has this feature, although I'm not sure what the radio that came stock in it was like. It has the ERS setup in it from the factory.
Another question, when my stereo was stolen the thief clipped all of the wires, well on the 2 wires that go into the plastic connector and come out as 1, that connector is gone. I noticed that when those 2 wires are twisted together it turned my park lights on.. why did it do that? What would my stereo have to do with my park lights?

those wires go to your dash lights that were in your radio and sounds like the other is somehow hot iwould get a volt meter and isolate what system in the fuse box they are on to figure out what they are one of those wires will be your dimmer
