antenna = no sound?
antenna = no sound?
alright so i've put in a new sterio all new speakers and in teh proccess managed to find a car alarm system that didn't work that was tangled in my car and a bunch of other ****. but i put in all new speakers and when i pluged the antenna into the system it cut the speakers out. i'm talking like no sound at all not even static. but if i have the antenna out and just use the cd player its fine. The antenna is supposed to be a power antenna but i think the motor went out or something. i had a sterio system in before this one and the radio worked fine so i have no clue how it could just mess up from switching the sterio. aren't they all the same antenna jacks? help me out here.

wierd? never had that happen to me before. try using a standard antenna and see if the problem continues. if so i would change the head unit to a known good one from a buddy and use the standard antenna to see if it works. id also check the grounds/power leads to the power antenna too. i use a power antenna also and have no problems at all. give it a try and see what happens.
like when you hook the antenna into the sterio system all sound just cuts out. the sterio will still have power and everything just the speakers go out. i'm now thinking its a ground wire or something from the radio. but do yall know a cheap place to get a new power antenna?
