impedence and headunits

Hey, I've been reading about impedence of speakers and I'm a bit confused. I have a 99 camaro. Do i need to buy speakers with an impedence of 2 ohms for my camaro even if im getting a headunit installed in my car? Any input would be appreciated.

4 ohm is just about all car stereos and speakers unless you get into specialty subs

You have to watch speaker impedance other places then subs. Factory Bose systems often use 2 ohm or even 1 ohm speakers. If the car didn't have a Bose or Monsoon system then you should have 4 om speakers. And if you getting a new deck it will need 4 ohm speakers. They do usually keep thing to third gens here, but this is very general, If you have a monsoon system there are boards out there that may be more helpful.
