OEM Radio Troubles

my '85 came with the premium radio option, but the radio is acting a bit wacky. sometimes the radio works fine, other times when the radio is on there is nothing but static as if the antenna wasn't plugged in at all, and then sometimes the radio with just shut off even though the power button is pushed in but the time and everything is still displayed, but it's like the radio doesn't react to the power button. i've pulled the radio out and checked the connections, all is good. is there a bad ground somewhere or is the radio just about to ready to die? 'It sounds confusing, i know lol

Radio Works
Radio Works but no reception, only static
Radio shuts off and doesn't react to power button.

Re: OEM Radio Troubles

pull it out and make sure the wires on the back are not touching each other. i had that problem and it was the wires touching.
