AMP suggestions
I just bought a Pioneer DEH-P77DH headunit (45X4)and some infinty speakers:
INFINITY KAPPA 693.7i 6x9" 3 WAY and
INFINITY KAPPA 462.7CFP 4x6
If I think it needs an amp---I am thinking just for the rear spaekers
Would this do?http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-07-INFINITY-...QQcmdZViewItem
The 6X9s are rated at RMS Wattage:
110
This would be the furtherest I have ever gone with any system in any of my cars--hence the questions. Feel free to educate me too

Re: AMP suggestions
for 2 speakers.. 2 channel.. 4 speakers 4 channel.. i would get a 4 channel with a high rms rating, just incase you want to hook up the 4x6s or you put in some component.. mono amps are mostly used for subs

Yeah, get a 4-channel. But especially dont get a mono, they are made for subs and made to emphasize the lower frequencies. They also have the LPF and bass boost made for subs.
With a 4 channel, you could amp all four speakers. Or, you could amp the front two, and bridge the last two to run a small sub.
But, what I did on my last car was (before I had a sub) amp all 4 speakers, but set the HPF on the front speakers to 125 HZ, and set the LPF on the rears to 125. Therefore, the rears were acting as subs, while the fronts set the soundstage. Also, good 6x9 can bump pretty good if you concentrate the power down low (eg. getting rid of voice, symbols, ect).
However, after adding a seperate amped sub, I set the HPF to 125 front, 79 back, and the LPF to 80 on the sub. Worked pretty good. That way the 6x9's gave that little "punch" that was below the mids, but above the 80hz max subwoofer.

Re: AMP suggestions
thanks for the replies.
HPF and LPF? High powered frequency and low power frequency??
I never really thought about putting the amp to the front speakers---they cannot handle nearly as much wattage as the rears: RMS Power Handling: 60 watts
After the 45 from the deck that leaves only 15
.......how do you only add a little wattage?

LPF = Low pass filter, only lower frequencies (like the bass from a sub) come through.
Your head unit isn't putting out 45 watts. It's only putting out about 20 watts rms. The 45 is peak power output, you can pretty much ignore that.
Your best bet would probably be to get a small 50 watts rms per channel 4 channel amp for those speakers.
