where are they?!

i must be a complete idiot. where the hell are the rear speakers at in my 87 gta? i need to be slapped because i dont see them.

Yup, right in the sail panels - just take the screw out of the hook and off the panel comes (they're 6 x 9s if you didn't know beforehand).

I plan on replacing the factory radio in the Spring. I have the UQ7 factory subwoofer option. Can anyone give me recommendations on what I can put in the rear (one of the subs is blown). I have heard that connecting an aftermarket head unit can blow the factory amp. Any truth to that?

make sure you slide the panels up before you pull them out, one of mine is cracked in half due to a previous owner

You can bypass the setup completely. Just leave the amp harness unplugged from the back of the radio, then mount standard 6x9 brackets in the rear panels. Plug the rear 4x6 connectors into the new 6x9 speakers.
