speaker opinions
hey guys this might get a little lengthy but, bear with me here go's.
i need to buy new front and rear speakers for another family car (dads 07 silverado). He's already burnt out 2 front speakers and he's an old guy who never turns up his stereo (basically cheap junk factory speakers). he's finally irritated about gms new speakers (his 05 colorado burnt 1 up too, now his newest trucks burnt out 2).
i want to buy a high end set of speakers for his truck and he wants a very crisp sound, so i'm thinking components. He's also going to be using the factory cd deck that the truck came with
so far we heard infinity's reference series and my dad likes it but, i'm swaying him towards infinitti's kappa series. His truck uses 4 by 6s and 6 1/2 rounds.
basically i want the best overal sound quality for a not so outragous price (under 150$ per set would be optimal but, not 100% set guideline).
does jl audio have a speaker with comparable sound quality to the infinitti's or maybe kicker, polk, or boston acoustix?
basically i've only heard best buy brands currently. they only carry the reference series, we'd like a component with a wider sound range hopefully (kappa offers 3 way 6.5s and a higher power capacity).
what do you guys think you would go with for the most crisp sound that doesn't distort much?

Re: speaker opinions
i've always heard the infinity speakers and subs were awsome deals for the money. Thats what I'm going to setup in my bird when every thing else is running again. GM must have gotten really cheap over the years cause I never was able to blow the factory speakers on my 92 LeSabre when I had it..

Re: speaker opinions
sounds about like i expected, any1 know anything about newer jl kicker polk or boston acoustix stuff and if they are comparable in low volume clarity. + a little extra base than factory won't hurt of course which i'm sure most any aftermarket component should have i'd expect.
