Audio Installation
Audio Installation
I want to throw a question out.
I’ve got a third generation camaro I want to put a descent system in. Just something I can listen to going down the road. The current system is ruined at best, everything will need to be replaced. Back speakers are blown, radio only works if you jiggle wires under the dash, and door speakers barely work.I would want all the wires replaced. If I provided the system (head unit, door speakers, Back speakers, sub and amp) whats a ball park estimate of what I would expect to pay for a quality install?
I’m not looking for a special set-up, no fancy locations. Just a rewire and a quality install. A ball-park figure; I know we’ve got several audio professionals on here, give me a figure you’d charge or your store would charge. PM if you wish, I’m just looking for an estimate so to know roughly what to expect.

Re: Audio Installation
do the speakers yourself and save a little. They are so easy to take out and install a monkey could do it.
Costs.. Iunno I did mine myself keeps me busy and I like learning stuff and junk
But don't pay for someone to install some 4x6 and 6x9s they are just 2 screws and bam two wires easy plug and play.
Sub, amp and Head unit to install from pro easier on them and quicker and they will do it right.

Re: Audio Installation
I'm going to assume you want dash, not door speakers. Like stated above, dont pay to have the 4x6s and 6x9s installed. They're easy. depending on how cheap you want to go, $400-800 is ballpark.
I'd get a mono amp, a decent 10" or 12" sub, a 4 channel amp, and then some sony, pioneer, or similar speakers (they're not quality, but they're good for the price).
For the price these are amazing. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...rch=sub&tp=111
and http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...rch=sub&tp=111
I have 2 of the 12's and I'm amazed. 97 db sensitivity is great (the 12") and the 10" is 95db. The frequency response isn't great, and a 10" would be good enough for what you need (and has better response than the 10").
For headunits, I'm very satisfied with the jvc hdw10. HD radio, I used the cd changer for an aux in, and 3 preamp outs (Which I'll use 8D). Very good quality, and at a great pricepoint. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...+HDw10&tp=5684 $100 now.
Hope this helps, this is just my two cents. Others will tell you otherwise, but your price range has a lot to do with it.

Just labor? I would expect somewhere between $200 to $300 for quality work, not Bubba down the street... Reverse harness soldered in, all wires ran in proper locations and loomed up, yada yada yada...
