I bought a '91 Camaro that was broken into and the stereo system was stolen. This means it is all wired for a nice system. It has 2 big thick Monster Cables Black and red which I am guessing is for the Amp and 1 or 2 RCA monster cable and a regular speaker cable. It also has a Alpine head unit in it right now and speakers hooked up (unknown brand/type). I just so happen to have a nice 10" JL Sub in the garage I want to put into it. What would you guys suggest? I am not one to put a 1500 dollar system in I just want a half way decent one.

Buy or make box.. you got the subs already and if you can figure out what is what for the wiring then use the existing.. if not rip it all out and start new. Alpine deck works so that is good don't need to rewire that. Buy a kit from where ever ebay, walmart and away you go.Originally Posted by liveyourself

go to a Pawn shop and look for a Blown Bazooka tube 10" !! Stick that JL audio in there and you are SET !! those 3rd gens and 4th gens are Perfect for Bazooka tubes.
Im not a fan of JL but I guess Millions of people cant be wrong. I prefer to use "Kicker"

The red should be positive, black should be ground. There should be another wire that's usually blue but is often times a different color that gets 12 volt with the radio on, make sure that's all there and you're good to go. Hook an amp up, built a nice little enclosure for that 10 and there you go. You can fit a nice compact 10 enclosure in the well and it will sound really nice.
