Amp Instalation help

Ok, so i got a Clarion APX1300 Amp im looking to wire into the car, my questions are this...where would be the easiest possible route for me to run my RCA cables, remote wire and power wires from the battery to the amp and deck to amp?? also im looking at screwing the amp down where the t-tops bag would go (no big loss because the weather is rarely good enough to have the tops off anyways lol), but am worried that the gas tank is under the carpet and am wondering if it would be a good idea to put a couple screws down into the carpet, i guess the other alternative is to just get some velcro to hold the amp there, what do you guys suggest??

Thanks, Trent

Re: Amp Instalation help

to be honest with you, I'd probably remove the passenger (or driver seat) and all the plastic trim on that side and run the wires under the cable. Make sure you run the RCA cables as far as possible from power cables. I just stuck a flat piece of MDF board (maybe $5 at lows for a 4x3ft panel) under the carpet to make sure you don't pierce the sheet metal...

Ok i did what you said about running the wires in the car, i removed the drivers seat and the panel trim along the bottom of the door but found out i didnt really need to, i could just tuck the wires up in under the plastic trim no problem as i did it with the power wire and remote wire without a hitch on the other side, i removed the bottom part of the seats in the rear to run the wires behind them and under the carpet, as for drilling a hole in the firewall for the power wire i managed to find the perfect place right where the wheel well under the hood ends to the firewall on the passenger side. thanks very much for the help
