My fiberglass box project
I started this last week, I figured I'd post it up. The bottom/frame is made from 5/8" MDF, with a contoured lid to fit snugly against the hatch plastics. It lines up with the trim line in the rear plastics, which goes all the way around. I cut the speaker rings using a router with a circle jig, and stretched fleece over the top and back. I've soaked the fleece with fiberglass resin, and let it cure overnight. I'll do 3 or 4 layers of CSM fiberglass over this, then wrap it with tan vinyl to match the rear plastics. What do you guys think? Also, any tips on vinyl wrapping are much appreciated, I may try using contact cement to glue it down.

real nice job i used some fabri-tac or somethin like that its in the fabric isle at wal-mart it is pretty runny so it lays down flat and bonds good and quick to a simi-rough surface but dont use a thin fabric and dont use mass amounts or the glue wil just eat the fabric up literaly and you will have to start over also lay it down and leave it there if you try to move it youll rip the fabric ive been there so test it out first towards the bottom where you cant see it but I was trying to wrap the gauge bezle its got alot sharper curves and angles than a box so it should work good for you i did a box simular only its recessed down in the spare tire area and i was gonna paint mine and what kind of brush did you use just a regular brisle brush and could you reuse it i used a foam brush with the foam ripped off but the plastic insides are reuseable but make it kinda hard to work with
