Repair ANT coax cable?

I have a 1988 GTA with a power ANT. The connector on the ANT coax cable is broken and flopping around (connector that goes into the radio). Is there a way to splice a new connector on the end of the cable? Or, where can I buy an OE replacement ANT coax cable? Anyone have a GM PN? Anyone have an extra one? Looking for options to repair it...Thanks!

You can get the end at the local Radio Shack and it takes seconds to change. If the power antenna didn't work, I'd recommend just replacing the entire assembly with a standard fixed mast. The oem fixed antenna assembly with the cable is under $20 at the dealer.

Re: Repair ANT coax cable?

Thanks guys. The antenna works well, well sort of. It goes up and down when wired direct to the battery, but when I wire it to the relay it no longer works? I kind of wanted to keep the power ant feature and get the bugs worked out. I'm sure it's the relay.

Another member just PM'ed me, he has a replacement coax cable for me. So, just the relay issue left to figure out!

I thought you just wired it into the 12volt for accessories and into the signal wire the ground... all connections right behind the stereo

Re: Repair ANT coax cable?

Most aftermarket stereo's have a power wire for connecting a power antenna,so when you turn the head unit on,the antenna goes up.Antenna ground usually goes to the body.
