Sound system problem
Sound system problem
I got 2 12" subs in my camaro RS..they are in a custom built box that goes where the spare tire usually does in the trunk...problem is...when i put the volume up high...the subs vibrations make the metal in the trunk , licence plate, etc make noises (making the music sound really bad)
so i can never really enjoy the system...my friend told me something about getting my trunk reinforced...i had never heard of that...can anyone explain it to me and about how much it would cost??
Thanks

Re: Sound system problem
I think your friend might be talking about using dynamat. Using dynamat will help keep vibrations down and improve sound. As for the license plate and other stuff, you will have to find out whats buzzing and vibrating so you can tighten things down or reinforce whats vibrating. Its common with a stereo system that things will vibrate or buzz. You can eliminate most of it but you will usally have some kind of buzzing.

Not forsure how much dynamat is today. There are different kinds of dynamat and it depends on what you get and how much you want. You can get dynamat from local audio stores, here on the web, and ebay. Its sold in kits or sheets. The stuff helps dampen vibrations and buzzes and people claim the it will give you a few extra decibels from your system.
