Re: capasitor question

Well to answer your question when u got your capacitor it should have came with a 1000 ohm resistor or something close to it which you use to charge it according to instructions. If you don't do this the right way you run the risk of failure(almost definite failure).

A capacitor is not efficient or worth your money these days. Except for the addition of some nice looking led lights they just arent worth the money. If your system is really hitting hard enough to draw power to the point where it dims your lights then i would go buy your self a power cell. Kinetik makes some amazing power cells and for 50 bucks more you can buy one that is over 100 farad instead of buying a 1 farad cap for your car. I personally am pushing two 12in subs each getting 500rms a piece from seperate amps. I hang out at the local car audio shop all the time and i can just say spend the extra money and get a power cell.

Sry for the long post but just as an example a friend of mine is running a 2000d and a 12in mojo in a 3.2 cubic foot box in his 04 impala. At a party he had it hittin for 4 hours almost straight with the car never being started or pluged in or anything. It was hittin loud and proud for a long time. Just as a side note a power cell is literally the size of a battery and also doesnt have all the fancy lights and looks. It plain and simple just does its job and does it VERY WELL.

^^if you cant tell i like my car audio equipment (also a salesman)

Re: capasitor question

Not sure I've herd of a power cell. Sounds similar to an optima, and it probably just wires in parallel so as not to create 24 volts I assume?

Re: capasitor question

A "power cell" is a low-capacity dry cell battery that's misnamed and misrated in farads for marketing purposes.
