That was ridiculous. It reminded me of a ex-friend of mine that was as full of **** as that guy was. He had an 86 Firebird 3.8 V6 and always bragged about how it used to be a drag racer when his brother owned it and it had a "special racing engine" and a "lightweight racing frame". He said it he got up to 146 on a long empty stretch of road down here called Mashoes and then lost control around a corner and wrecked, and said that he hit a tree with his front left fender when he did and that's how it got dented. I'd like to know how he determined that speed from a 120 mph speedometer, first of all, and secondly how a wreck at 146 mph didn't turn that car into an unrecogniseable hunk of steel and rubber. He said he raced a Chevy Nova SS with a 454 and left it in the dust a month after I met him. I'd like to know how, because the transmission linkage was NEVER hooked up the entire time he had the car, as well as the fact that everytime he tried to start it it didn't even give a backfire, and then proclaimed "Well what's wrong with it now? I had it running last week!". Hm, I wonder why... maybe because your firing order was bass akwards when I fixed it for you? Or maybe the fact that you removed "unnecessary wires"? The only time that car moved is when I towed it to his new house with my Jeep a few months before he just sold it for scrap metal.

How many people think this is real? It's pretty obvious it's staged and scripted. They're basically having a laugh on the red-neck bullshitters that own Camaro's. Basically perpetuating the myth that you're all a bunch of "Big Fish" story tellers with a joke of a car that you idolize. It's not really funny, it's more annoying then anything else. im my line of work, i work closly with pd, chp and sheriff, and any la law enforcent car(exception of chargers, camaros, ect) top out at 135mph, no faster...unless your going downhilll i suppose!

 

well im no cop but i do know that there fast cars, and 135 thats close enough to 140 aint it?.....lol......all im sayin is there fast freakin cars.....lol

I went to school for criminal justice. I have done many ride alongs with different agencies. I will say that the fastest patrol cars are owned by the NYS Troopers(at least that I can personally vouch for). They tune them to a larger extent. They have more money, need faster cars as they patrol the whole state and also are responsible for the NYS thruway. Idc what anyone says they are fast cars. Were not talking 11 sec 1/4's or crazy G pulling cars. Just in general perspective they are fast cars.

I wish they still used the LS1 camaro's. One of the NYS trooper patrol officers I rode with on the thruway used to drive the LS1 camaro chase car(since stopped using the cars for patrol). He said those were crazy fast. He was telling me all the modifications they do to them and its crazy. I would say it would be the same list of mods most of us would do to a 4th gen LS1.


I can vouch that the new Tahoes are pretty darn fast also. They handle amazing for a SUV too! Personally I really like the new Tahoes the NYS Troopers use. Dark blue, dark tint, black push bar, darkened tailights, etc. They look very sleak.
