Depth of subs

Currently I am running this set up:

2 MB Quart 800W 10 Inch Subs
1 Autotek 1500W amp
2 Farad Power Acoustik Capacitor
1 600W Power Acoustik Amp pushing 2 6x9s

One of my subs decided to break around the magnet. I am thinking aboout replacing both subs. I am unsure on how deep i can go with a sub. I have been looking at these.

Any idea if these would fit in to a normal camaro/firebird subwoofer box? And if they did, would they blow the box to pieces?

Thanks

Re: Depth of subs

You would need to measure the depth of your box and compare it to the specs of the sub. Also how much air is the sub getting now. The alpine specs are 0.5-0,8 cu.ft sealed.

The sub you're looking at is a dual 4 ohm. Which would result in a 1 ohm load if you buy two. Is your sub amp 1 ohm stable?

Lastly, ditch the capacitor...waste of money. If your lights dim...start with the BIG 3 upgrade and go from there.
