Wiring mess help...
So I've searched and searched but can't seem to figure this out....
I'm also inexperienced with this so bear with me.
This is the wiring mess sticking out now

This is the adater/plug that came with headunit

and the back of headunit and all wires....

The black ground:

The Fuse box:

a red wire going from acc fuse to the center console

Questions are as follows:
Do I just match up colors? They all don't match...
What color means what and which ones go where...
I don't have antenna(missing)
I can get more pictures if needed...
So if someone could help or at least point me in right direction I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.

Re: Wiring mess help...
I believe normally you get an adaptor that connects between the OEM wiring and the Aftermarket harness. (maybe I'm wrong I've never had to do that).
If you need to know what wire is what they might be in the auto-reference manuals that auto parts store carry. I know I have one for 82-92 firebird from AutoZone and it's documented for the under the hood wiring and other stuff. I don't know if the Stereo wiring is in there, but I would think it would be.
Make sure you get the right wires connected, else you might fry out the radio. Lots of electronics like that have built in fuses but there a pain to replace.
As for the red wire I would assume someone ran that for a run-hot only wire for maybe a switch or something near the center console at one point.

Re: Wiring mess help...
hey sorry dont know what year car you have, but i found this pretty helpful: http://www.iroczone.com/category/art...iagrams/audio/
also because you said you are pretty inexperienced, like me, this helped me out a lot with figuring out how to connect it all reliably: http://www.mmxpress.com/technical/connections.htm
hope it all helps!

From the Haynes Manual:
These wires come from the radio to speakers:
Rt front- Lt Green // Dark Green
Lt front- Tan // Gray
Lt Rear- Brn // Yellow
Rt Rear- Dark Blue // Lt Blue
Ground- Black
Other:
Display On Signal- Yellow to 10 amp Radio fuse * NOTE * HOT in ACC or RUN
Clock Power- Orange to 20 amp ACC fuse * NOTE * HOT AT ALL TIMES
ON Output- Pink-- To power antenna System
DIM Signal- Brown Interior Lights System
Panel Light- Gray-- To Interior Lights System
*** NOTE *** This is for a TYPICAL stereo system.
LMK if you had a Delco-Bose stereo- there are more wires for that.
This is pretty much a basic stereo diagram!!
For further help, go to the manufacture's site for the model you have.
As you can see, there are 2 Gray wires!! And 2 Yellow. Unfortunately, the manual does not list gauge size for the Gray wire for the panel light!! Or the Yellow for the left Rear speaker!!
Get a tester that shows power level, it would be a BIG help!! See if your local auto parts store has a ' loaner '.
