is it worth it

my friend gave me 2 12 in subs and an amp, i have a 91 cam. w/ t tops..... so first of all im gonna need to build a custom box and 2nd will they interfere with the t top case in the trunk? i dont really know where to start with this one, can someone point me in the right direction or give me any ideas u have. i also thought about selling the subs and buying smaller, but i dont know if that is necessary. thanks.

Re: is it worth it

well i think you will be very happy with 2 12s if you like to crank up the tunes. I have 2 12s in my T-top formula as do many others with t-tops. there is a sticky on building boxes under car audio that are great, however if you don't want to build one you can buy a box for like $200 or less. Sonicelectronix.com has a box i think shipped its about $150 to me might be more/less for you. If you build it so it sits flush with the top of the trunk space you should be fine.

I use 2 10s in the well area and it shakes the f**k out of my car. I can still put my tops in the stock location.

Re: is it worth it

so.... first of all i bought a great box at the swap meet for 65 bucks, (if your in the so cal area and need a place to get sterio equipment ill refer you to the guy)... so that wasnt a problem, i got them installed at a different place tho.. the only thing im trying to fix now is it seems like the speakers by the back seats raddle like crazy !!!! i knew my lisence plate would raddle so i improvised and put some cushion between the plate holder and the actual plate, that worked, i was thinking of doing the same between the actual speakers in the back and the metal part of my car but theres no way i can get in there with out taking the speakers out which i dont wanna do alone, does anyone else have this problem?

Re: is it worth it

Yeah definetely worth it. Also FWIW, I don't have a "sub box", I just have the trunk lid with two 12" subs in them and it does the job.
