speaker problems
I have this 87 IROC that I bought about 4 months ago. When I bought it the dome light, horn, radio etc would not work. Today I finally found the fused that needed replaced and fixed it. Everything now works but the music only plays out of the rear driver side speaker.
So I went back there and from the looks of things it looks as though the electrical had been out for 5+ years as the speakers had a fair amount of dirt caked on them. So is there anyway I can get them to work again? Also the speaker that does work can only be turned up half way and then it starts to make a crackling sort of sound as though there is interference. Plus even with it up halfway it sounds like a whisper. So... any suggestions?

Re: speaker problems
Ive seen this before. It could be 2 things. (1) The radios speaker channel on its internal amp is going bad (new radio time) or (2) The speakers voice coil is going out. Id suggest just throwing a new deck and speakers in there. You'll not only get functional sound.. But way better sound.
Whats in there now? all stock?

Re: speaker problems
right now there is a newer deck but I still think it is atleast 5-10 years old and the speakers are pioneers but they also look to be 5-10 years old as well. What brand of deck and speakers do you guys recommend because I was thinking alpines because they have a nice sound and I know they will fit.
